Amazing place! The owner is so welcoming and attentive and really looked after us! The food is beautiful - so fresh and everything is homemade or sourced from Italy for authenticity. Would recommend!

We we're blown away with the food and service after we decided to pop in for lunch, we ate outside with out 2 dogs and were offered a plethora of dishes. We are both vegetarian and the options were much more varied than the majority of restaurants we've been to in much larger cities. I cannot recommend il teatro enough and it's a real asset to the area.

We went here for my birthday, and I was so happy we did! The food was delicious, and the experience was so warm and authentic - I genuinely want to go back to try everything on the menu. It was an all round great night. The cocktails and creme brule are spot on too!

Really nice place to visit, the interior is very pleasant and the seating is comfortable. Atypical menu for an Italian, but that makes it stand out. The food fresh and delicious, I opted for the lasagne on the specials board alongside a rocket and parmesan salad, both were delicious. The owner was very helpful and made a lot of effort with our table. Wholly worth a visit!

What a little gem this place is. My husband and I couldn’t decide on what to eat, the owner recommended some dishes to us and I’m so pleased we trusted his suggestions the food was lush. Staff are so friendly and the owner is so passionate about his food. If you like Italian food this is the place to be, looking forward to returning.

Had a great meal here with my wife and will definitely go again. The starter of bombetta was very tasty and beautifully cooked, but the highlight for me was the pasta with gorgonzola and pear. I would never have thought that this combination would work so well, but it was the best meal I have had in ages, I didn't want it to end. The menu was on a chalkboard, that the owner talked us through in detail. Some people would find this appealing as it shows that the menu is updated on a regular basis, and there is the personal contact, however I personally would prefer a printed sheet with more details, so that I could think about the various options rather than feeling pressured about making my mind up there and then. Even if this was on a piece of A4 from a home printer, it would allow more thought and discussion at the table. We had an excellent evening in this small and intimate restaurant and appreciated the unobtrusive background music. Service was attentive, and although this isn't the cheapest Italian restaurant it felt authentic and value for money, and we will definitely return. This is a hidden gem that deserves to be supported.

Fantastic hidden gem! The owner Tino is so welcoming, love this family business and will definitely return. They make you feel like part of the family. They can cater for Gluten Free - the pasta is the best I’ve tried to date. My daughter especially loves their cannoli. Noticed it’s THE place for coffee too - so many people coming in just for their coffee, tried one myself and agree it’s very good. Look forward to trying a steak next time, the specials board alone had a huge choice. Just a shame we don’t live closer as spotted posts of their mega breakfasts which look amazing value.

We are absolutely in love with Il Teatro! Incredible food, amazing flavours and very generous portions — we were so full by the end. The atmosphere is fantastic: cosy, stylish and very inviting. Everything was perfect from start to finish. Definitely one of our favourite places now and we will 100% be back!
